Pier Pressure Bracknell

Alien Encounter is the stand-out game at Pier Pressure Bracknell and I can see why enthusiasts love it. We didn’t gel with it like we were expecting to, but it was a fun game, with twists-and-turns a-plenty! If you’re looking for a challenging game with a cool set, then this is the Alien Encounter that you’re looking for.

We historically have not gotten on especially well with Egyptian-themed games (to the point where I have wondered if we were, in fact, cursed in the first one we ever entered), so I expected Pharaoh’s Mystery to be my least favourite at Pier Pressure Bracknell. In fact the opposite is true, and this was perhaps the game that I got on the best with. It’s not perfect, but it’s fun, and has plenty of pleasing puzzles.

This is a game that won’t be a standout for many players, but the puzzles were fair and we had an enjoyable time. It felt like our experience ended a bit anti-climacticly, and also rather abruptly, but maybe I missed something of the story?

I don’t think this was my favourite game at this venue, but I could see it being a hit with families. I’m personally never a fan of magic games, but even I could see that this game had some cool moments and a bit of added flair that many would enjoy.
