The Panic Room: Mind Pod (Gravesend)

Published: 5 January 2019

The Panic Room: Mind Pod (Gravesend)

The most fun you can have in ten minutes, maybe…

This 10 minute experience will both calm and challenge the brain in equal measure. It will test your mind whilst also cleaning away all the grimy parts using “highly safe” gamma radiation combs. Think of it as a sort of mental enema, or synaptical douche where you will come out feeling all warm, fuzzy and possibly devoid of any thought. As with any Frontier Engineering invention, total memory loss is a fun and quirky side effect.

As we had booked an enthusiast package at The Panic Room, ‘F.E.A.T’ was thrown in as an added extra. We really didn’t know to expect as this is basically just a pod in the lobby of their St Georges Centre location and only 10 minutes long, but it felt like nice respite between Loop and Enigma.

This ‘room’ felt like we were in training for the Krypton Factor, using a mixture of logic knowledge and memory to answer as many puzzles as possible as quickly as possible. It sounds like quite a simple process but it still tooks us two minutes of shouting at the screen to realise that this wasn’t controlled by voice but by some beautifully made game pieces.

First we had to match colours, then objects by their noises, and then both objects (sound) and colours. You wouldn’t really expect it but this was actually a really fun experience and there really was a lovely zen like feel being in it.

Even though we wasted 20% of our time shouting at the screen we quickly redeemed ourselves and when we finished we were quite shocked to see our score was joint top for the month – if only we hadn’t wasted that time! Considering it is only £5 per team (at the time of writing) and takes up only 10 minutes of your life, what do you really have to lose? Consider it a warm up for Dino Land!
