For our 600th game, I think we chose well. It didn’t have the spectacle of some games, but at its heart, it was a fun game, with plenty of courage to try new things, and much brain power required to get through the challenging puzzles.
Telford
XscapeNow: Battleships (Telford)
We’ve never had a bad time at XscapeNow, and I think that of the games we’ve played there, Battleships is probably my favourite. It’s got the perfect mix of puzzles, set design, and a dramatic ending – what’s not to love?
XscapeNow: Runaway Train (Telford)
We’ve not played all the games at XscapeNow, but I think Runaway Train could maybe be my favourite there, actually, it may be Battleships – I can’t decide! Runaway Train is a strong game, with a great flow and is guaranteed to be a family favourite.
Clockwork Escapes: The Creep (Telford)
This was a fun game with an interesting concept, but for us, it was let down by a harsh penalty mechanism and a clue-happy GM. Is it still a good game and worth playing? Yes, if you’re in the area, it is a fun game and we would say to play it, but just be careful what you touch and what touches you…
XscapeNow: Sweeney Todd (Telford)
A ’fun’ take on the rather grim Sweeney Todd story. Decent puzzles, good design, and a good flow. We struggled, but we’re not really sure why
