Exit19: The Abandoned Hotel (Wroclaw)

Exit19: Abandoned Hotel (Wrocław)

I can see why this game has been holding its own in the TERPECAs for a number of years, it is visually striking and the seamless gameplay is sure to make it an instant favourite for anyone that plays it. Horror? Yes. But don’t let that put you off, it’s a horror-lite experience and one that we would wholeheartedly recommend everyone plays, even if you jump at the sound of a mouse farting.

Exit19: King Arthur’s Dungeon (Wroclaw)

Exit19: King Arthur’s Dungeon (Wroclaw)

I can see why King Arthur’s Dungeons was rated so highly in 2020. It’s got good set design, a fun use of space and some quality props. Even in 2026 it is a fun game to play, but I don’t think it probably wows like it used to.

Exit19: Asylum (Wroclaw)

Exit19: Asylum (Wroclaw)

Asylum is a decent horror-lite experience. I imagine it will be a challenge for many teams because of the split-start aspect, but the puzzles are fair and not overly challenging.

Fun 4 Brain: The Green Mile (Poznań)

Fun 4 Brain: The Green Mile (Poznań)

This game felt like we started in The Green Mile and ended up escaping Shawshank (two great movies). Green Mile is a huge game, with a lot going on, and is a must play if you’re in the Poznan area – or just in Poland in general really.

Funroom: Dwarves (Poznań)

This is a cute game and has a fun sense of adventure, especially the beginning. I can’t pinpoint what, but I feel like I just wanted more from this game, perhaps just more excitement somehow?

DreamScape Escape Room: Deadman’s Revenge (Poznań)

DreamScape Escape Room: Deadman’s Revenge (Poznań)

I’m always a fan of pirate themed games, and this is one of the better ones I have played. It didn’t take itself seriously at all, and has at least one moment that will most definitely stick with you. Great hosting, great set, fun puzzles, and generally just an enjoyable experience.

Continuum: Strangers (Poznan)

If you play an escape room and you have to choose a safe word, you know you’re in for a good time! Strangers was one of those games that we knew nothing about, yet somehow ended up becoming one of the highlights of our trip.

Escape Arena: Bat’s Shadows (Poznan)

Escape Arena: Bat’s Shadows (Poznan)

I can see why this game is getting conversations about TERPECA recognition, it’s a really solid game that has fun puzzles and a great set. Is it TERPECA worthy? Possibly. Should you play it regardless? Yes, definitely.

Escape Arena: Vikings – Amulets of Power (Poznan)

Escape Arena: Vikings - Amulets of Power (Poznan)

Viking wasn’t really the game for us. It was fun, yes, but we just didn’t click with the puzzles and some of them felt like they needed big leaps in logic to solve them – but again, that could have just been us being a bit dim.

Continuuum: Personality (Poznan)

Continuuum: Personality (Poznań)

Personality was a challenging game, interspersed with an oddly charming juxtaposition of silliness and the macabre. The start of the game is what elevates this game from good to great, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Fun 4 Brain: Funeral Home (Poznan)

Fun 4 Brain: Funeral Home (Poznan)

There was nothing stand out about this game, it was just fun and fair. We enjoyed the game, and the variety of puzzles, and the only issues we had were our own fault.

Mr Lock: Superheroom (Bydgoszcz)

Mr Lock: Superheroom (Bydgoszcz)

This game is well regarded, but I was suspicious of how good it would actually be. We’re so pleased we added this as a bonus game to our trip. The game itself was enjoyable but the GM took it to that next level.

Wyjście Awaryjne: Sea Tales (Bydgoszcz)

Wyjście Awaryjne: Sea Tales (Bydgoszcz)

I can see why this game is so highly rated, and I think if it was fully playable in English we would have had a better time. Still, it’s clearly a beautiful set and had some really cool moments, so if you’re in town and looking for a game – this is one you shouldn’t miss.

Wyjście Awaryjne: Operation: Metro (Bydgoszcz)

Wyjście Awaryjne: Operation: Metro (Bydgoszcz)

Of the three games we booked at Wyjście Awaryjne, Operation Metro was the one I had the lowest expectations for, but actually turned out to be Liz’s favourite. The set was good, the puzzles were the right level of challenging, and the theme was a lovely nod to the local area.

Wyjście Awaryjne: Shadow of the Pyramids (Bydgoszcz)

Wyjście Awaryjne: Shadow of the Pyramids (Bydgoszcz)

This is a rare thing for us, an Egyptian themed game that we didn’t crash and burn! Shadow of the Pyramids has an impressive, although not huge space, and a solid sense of adventure. It’s also padlock-free which I know a lot of people will appreciate.
